8th Meeting of the Focal Points of the Sandy Shorelines Project

On March 9th 2023, the 8th Meeting of the Focal Points of the Sandy Shorelines Project was held to discuss the progress of the components of the Sandy Shorelines Project that the ACS and KOICA have developed together. The Focal Point Members present at this meeting included: Jamaica, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama and Haiti. Currently, the final phase of the Sandy Shorelines Project is beginning, and as such, important ongoing activities such as the procurement of coastal equipment, the establishment of an erosion network and the development of a beach rehabilitation guidebook were discussed. In addition to these activities, important upcoming events such as the Beach Preservation Conference in June 2023 were also highlighted.
