Partnership Deepens: ACS and Brazil Join Forces for Sustainable Development
Brasilia, Brazil – 12 June 2025 - The Secretary-General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Noemí Espinoza Madrid, and the Ambassador Ruy Pereira, Director of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), held a significant meeting to deepen their cooperation within the framework of the Basic Agreement on Technical Cooperation signed in January 2025. This agreement aims to enable the promotion of initiatives in priority areas such as the influx of sargassum and disaster risk reduction, and represents a significant step toward structured, long-term cooperation.
During the discussion, both leaders explored the establishment of a Permanent Cooperation Commission between the ACS and Brazil, emphasizing their shared commitment to addressing common regional challenges.
This partnership reflects a shared vision to build a more sustainable, resilient, and unified Caribbean region, working together to face future challenges and seize development opportunities.
