ACS Secretary General Meets with Dominican Republic's Vice Minister to Strengthen Regional Cooperation

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – February 27, 2025 – The Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Noemí Espinoza Madrid, held a virtual meeting with H.E. Hugo Francisco Rivera Fernández, Vice Minister for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation of the Dominican Republic, to discuss opportunities for collaboration to benefit the Greater Caribbean.
During the meeting, they addressed the challenges facing the tourism sector in the region, with special emphasis on aviation, a key element for connectivity and economic development of Caribbean countries. Both parties agreed on the need to promote initiatives that strengthen this strategic sector.
Likewise, the Dominican Republic reaffirmed its support for the 17th ACS Business Forum, to be held in May 2025 in Colombia, within the framework of the 10th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the ACS and the 9th International Cooperation Conference of the ACS. This forum will represent a key platform for strengthening trade, investment and regional cooperation.
The ACS continues to promote dialogue and joint action to address the challenges of the Greater Caribbean, consolidating strategic alliances with Member States and partners in the region.
