One of the main goals of the Special Committee on Transport will be to promote the signature of the ACS Air Transport Agreement among the Countries that have not yet done so and to encourage the Countries that have already signed it to deposit their instrument of ratification.

Commencement of the project “Port and Maritime Information Database”. The Database will include factors like freight costs and services available in ACS territories. To realise this goal, the ACS will be working in coordination with other regional institutions in the implementation of the project.

Security is also a concern. The Committee has also signed cooperation agreements with other agencies to deal with security training. This does not only cover the safety of travellers at air and sea ports, but also the illegal drug trade.
