The Directorate for Disaster Risk Reduction, Environment and the Caribbean Sea (DECS) participated in the “Measuring Effectiveness of Early Warning Systems, through the Sendai Framework Target (G) and Custom Indicators” workshop, organised by UNDRR-Las Americas y el Caribe and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management in Trinidad and Tobago (ODPMTT), with the support of The Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems Initiative (CREWS). The workshop facilitated an in-depth review of the advancements made in Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems (MHEWS) in the region, while highlighting areas for further development. Coming out of this workshop, the DECS will continue to work very closely with its partners and stakeholders to increase the availability of and access to MHEWS in the region.
