ACS at First Tourism Education Congress

On Friday April 28th, 2017, the First Congress of Education for Tourism held in the city of Managua, Republic of Nicaragua was organized by the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism (INTUR, for its Spanish acronym). The event was attended by three hundred stakeholders from the tourism sector and was developed with the objective of promoting education and vocational training, as a mechanism that will contribute to the development of tourism in the Country.

The Association of Caribbean States (ACS) was represented by Mr. Julio Orozco, Director of Sustainable Tourism who participated in the event as a presenter on the following topics: Experiences in Education and Vocational Technical Training in the Greater Caribbean as well as Challenges and Opportunities for improvement in Educational Tourism.

Also participating as presenters in the Congress were representatives of the George Washington University, STA Consultants S.A, The University of Costa Rica, National Chamber of Tourism of Nicaragua and the National Technological Institute.

The Association of Caribbean States is the organization for consultation, cooperation and concerted action in trade, transport, sustainable tourism and natural disasters in the Greater Caribbean.
