Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama visits the ACS

Port of Spain (January 08, 2013) – The Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador Alfonso Múnera Cavadía will receive an official visit from the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, the Honourable Francisco Álvarez De Soto at the ACS Headquarters in Trinidad and Tobago.

 

The Vice Minister’s meeting with the Secretary General will entail discussions on Panama’s working relationship with the ACS as the chair of the ACS Ministerial Council. Some of the matters to be discussed include Panama’s hosting of the ACS Ministerial Council in February of this year, the intersessional meeting and the ACS Summit which is to take place in April of this year in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

 

This meeting therefore promises to renew the commitments of both Panama and the Association of Caribbean States in facilitating dialogue and strengthening regional relations.

 

The Honourable Vice Minister Francisco Álvarez De Soto will lead this mission accompanied by HE Arline Gonzalez, Ambassador of Panama in Trinidad and Tobago, Licdo. Diego Ortiz, Vice Minister’s Chief of Cabinet, and Licdo. Luis A. Morán, Sub-director General of International Economic Relations.
