ACS Secretary General advocates for strategic planning to improve regional connectivity at the 21st Session of the Monitoring Committee of the ECLAC Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee
H.E. Rodolfo Sabonge, ACS Secretary General, attended the 21st Session of the Monitoring Committee of the ECLAC Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee on 3 November 2023. He delivered a presentation at the high-level roundtable discussion titled Repositioning the Caribbean in a dynamic and competitive global environment, which was moderated by Pennelope Beckles-Robinson, Minister of Planning and Development, Trinidad and Tobago.

Press Release - The Gulf Cooperation Council and the Association of Caribbean States Establish Ties
The Gulf Cooperation Council and Association of Caribbean States met at the Ministerial level on 18 September, 2023 in New York to establish a partnership between the two regional entities. The GCC delegation was led by HE Sayyid Bader bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman and Chair of the GCC Ministerial Council with the participation of Their Highnesses and Excellencies GCC Foreign Ministers and HE Mr. Jassem Mohammed Albudaiwi, GCC Secretary-General.

Connectivity Conference of the Greater Caribbean rescheduled to 18-20 October, 2023
We are pleased to announce the rescheduling of the Connectivity Conference of the Greater Caribbean, initially postponed due to unforeseen disruptions in travel operations. The conference, previously scheduled for 12-14 September will now take place on 18-20 October, 2023 in Sainte-Luce, Martinique.

ACS, CARICOM, SICA and SELA meet to establish common priorities for a joint program
H.E. Dr. Carla N. Barnett, referred to the establishment of CARICOM as an organization to seek closer relations in the Caribbean region. "As a region, we need to understand that we are more similar than we are different, that we are only divided because of the colonial experience," she emphasized.

Association of Caribbean States (ACS) Celebrates the 15th Business Forum of the Greater Caribbean in Antigua, Guatemala
The 15th Business Forum of the Greater Caribbean, ACS' flagship event and regional platform for public-private dialogue in the region, was held at the Porta Hotel in Antigua, Guatemala. Business leaders and policy makers in attendance presented and discussed information, strategies and updated knowledge on attracting foreign direct investment and increasing economic competitiveness and productivity in the region.

ACS Supports Small business development through IDB Regional Public Goods Initiative
The Association of Caribbean States (ACS) has been awarded $720,000 by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) under the regional public goods programme (RPG) to execute an MSME development and competitiveness project over the next three years. The project is geared towards strengthening MSMEs and value chains in the agribusiness, community-based tourism and creative industries.
