ACS Meets the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR)
Director Ana Leticia Cuevas Ramirez highlighted the fact that many of the priorities of the UNDRR align with the priorities of the recently approved ACS Plan of Action 2022-2028 and a partnered approach will definitely yield positive benefits to the region. It was clear that synergies and potential collaborations would be mutually beneficial for both organisations.

World Meteorological Day 2022: Early Warning and Early Action. Hydrometeorological and Climate Information for Disaster Risk Reduction.
Between 2012 and 2022, approximately 17,287 lives were lost as a result of storms and floods in the Greater Caribbean. During that same period storms, floods, droughts and extreme temperature accounted for USD$ 806,993,076 in damages. In 2017, Dominica and Barbuda were both ravaged by Hurricanes Maria and Irma respectively, the worst storms to hit these islands in their entire history

ACS meets the European Union
During the meeting, ACS Directorates provided a brief presentation in respect of the purpose of each Directorate with emphasis on how the EU’s new Strategy aligned with ACS priorities. The EU and ACS understand that joint work and partnerships can tackle the adverse effects of the pandemic in the Greater Caribbean region and contribute to the fulfilment of the SDGs especially in the areas of trade, digital commerce, tourism and climate change.

The Forum of Latin American and Caribbean Countries on Sustainable Development 2022
The ACS Secretary General, Rodolfo Sabonge will participate in panel 3 of the 5th convocation of this forum to address the topic: "Natural disasters and the asymmetry of climate change in the Caribbean". The forum will take place in San José, Costa Rica, from 7 to 9 March 2022.

At this meeting, the importance of Sustainable Tourism was discussed and the SG highlighted the need to enunciate the SDGs so that they are taken into account when developing products, thus allowing the incorporation of SMEs in the development of the offers.

24th Intersessional Preparatory Meeting for the 27th Ordinary Meeting of the ACS Ministerial Council
Senator, Dr. the Honorable Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign Affairs and CARICOM Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, highlighted the current context as a call to rebuild the ACS, noting that ACS plans can be included in national plans and reiterated the commitment of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to the Association.
