Furthermore, during the Third Summit of Heads of State and/or Government of the States, Countries and Territories of the Association of Caribbean States, held in Margarita Island, Venezuela, on December 11-12, 2001, it was expressed the need to increase the resources of the Special Fund of the ACS, as a mechanism for the implementation of projects in the priority areas of the Association. In this regard, the Special Fund activities are guided by the mandate given by the Members and Associate Members in the Margarita Plan of Action. Click here to view extracts. One of the Special Fund priorities is
the organization of a Network of International Cooperation Focal Points
in the Greater Caribbean. In this regard, the ACS, with the invaluable
help of the Government of Mexico, organized the 1st Meeting
of International Cooperation Focal Points in April 2002 that has led
to the adoption of the Strategic Plan of Action for the period 2002-2003: |
