Port of Spain (May 8, 2009) – Association of Caribbean States (ACS) Secretary General, Ambassador Luis Fernando Andrade Falla, met with the Honourable Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr Patrick Manning, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Port of Spain on 5 May 2009.

The ACS Secretary General first congratulated the Prime Minister and the people of Trinidad and Tobago for the successful hosting of the V Summit of the Americas.

Ambassador Andrade gave an overview of the current agenda of the ACS and exchanged views with Prime Minister Manning on possibilities of introducing new issues into the agenda to strengthen the cooperation in the wider Caribbean region.

The ACS Secretary General also informed the Prime Minister that President Álvaro Uribe of Colombia in his capacity as Chairman of the ACS Ministerial Council will convene a Summit of Heads of ACS governments in September 2009.
