HE Mr. Malay Mishram at the ACS Secretariat in Port of Spain

Port of Spain (March 31, 2009) –Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador Luis Fernando Andrade Falla recently received a courtesy visit from newly appointed High Commissioner of India in Trinidad & Tobago, HE Mr. Malay Mishram.

In this first official meeting, Ambassador Andrade informed HE Mr. Mishram on ACS projects, activities and ongoing developments in the focal areas of trade, tourism, transport and disasters, and particularly made reference to the advancements of the Caribbean Sea Commission.

HE Mr. Mishram expressed the commitment of his Government to cooperate with the ACS in its objectives and mission, and pursue the possibilities for deepening India’s relationship within the Association.

India was admitted as an ACS Observer country during the II Ordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Council on 13 December 1996.
