ACS Secretary General meets Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela

Port of Spain (November 26, 2008) – The Secretariat of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) welcomed The Honourable Francisco Arias Cárdenas, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela for Latin America & the Caribbean, who paid a courtesy call to the Secretary General, Ambassador Luis Fernando Andrade Falla on November 17 2008.

 

The Vice Minister underscored Venezuela’s willingness to support the ACS in achieving its goals of regional integration, working through the areas of Sustainable Tourism, Trade Development & External Economic Relations, Transport, and Disasters Risk Reduction and expressed great interest in the projects being undertaken by the organisation.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is currently Vice Chairman of the ACS Ministerial Council, which is the principal organ for policy-making and direction of the Association and the Secretariat.
