Port of Spain (July 28, 2008) – The Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador Luis Fernando Andrade Falla, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua, His Excellency Samuel Santos López, his Vice Minister, Manuel Coronel Kautz and Ambassador David McFields on 22 July 2008 at the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Managua, Republic of Nicaragua.

 

During this meeting Ambassador Andrade discussed with his hosts the outcomes of the XII Intersesional Preparatory Meeting of the Ministerial Council of the ACS. Furthermore, they emphasized on the cooperation in the Greater Caribbean and extended discussions on the Caribbean Sea Initiative, the works of the Caribbean Sea Commission, and Disaster Risk Reduction.

The Republic of Nicaragua is a Member of the Association of Caribbean States, and currently holds the position of vice chairman of the ACS Ministerial Council.
