In turn, the interim Prime Minister of Haiti touched on the issue of the impending elections in his country, explaining that they would take place on the established dates. The Secretary General thanked him for his visit and support for the ACS and expressed his desire that “the electoral process would conclude favourably and to the benefit of political stability and the social and economic development of the Haitian people” Before leaving the ACS headquarters, Prime Minister Latortue held a brief encounter with the entire ACS staff, and in his informal address, which he delivered consecutively in English, Spanish and French, the Prime Minister urged them to work wholeheartedly towards the success of the work of the organisation and the goal of attaining the integration of the Greater Caribbean region. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Haiti ’s Permanent Representative to the Organisation of American States, Ambassador Duly Brutus and Mr. Frantz Louis, Counsellor for International Relations in the Office of the Prime Minister.
