ACS NEWS RELEASE TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO PRIME MINISTER RECEIVES INVITATION TO ACS 4TH SUMMIT PORT OF SPAIN (02.21.2005) – The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Panama and that country’s acting Chargé d’Affaires in Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. José Rodrigo de la Rosa, formally delivered the official invitations of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Panama, Martín Torrijos Espino, to Senator the Honourable Patrick Manning, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, to participate in the 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), as well as the invitation for Senator the Honourable Knowlson Gift, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago dispatched by His Excellency Samuel Lewis Navarro, First Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Foreign Affairs, to attend the Extraordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Council that will take place prior to the Summit on the 26th of the same month. The ACS also reports that the remaining invitations for the Heads of State and/or Government and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Members of the Association have already begun to be dispatched by the Panamanian authorities, as well as those extended by the Host Country to certain governments and international persons. As is known, the 4th Summit of ACS Heads of State and/or Government will be held in Panama City, Republic of Panama, on July 28, 2005 About the ACS The Association of Caribbean States is the organisation for consultation, cooperation and concerted action in trade, transport, sustainable tourism and natural disasters in the Greater Caribbean. Its Member States are Antigua & Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago and Venezuela. Its Associate Members are Aruba, France on behalf of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, and Martinique, and the Netherlands Antilles.
