AGREEMENT FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE TERM OF OFFICE OF SENIOR

OFFICIALS OF THE SECRETARIAT WHOSE CONTRACTS ARE IN FORCE

The Ministerial Council,

Pursuant to:

  1. Articles VIII, paragraph 3 and XIV, paragraph 1 of the Convention establishing the Association.

  2. Agreements Nos. 2/95 (Annex II) and 8/95, adopted by the Ministerial Council during the First Ordinary Meeting held in Guatemala City, Guatemala on December 1, 1995.

Hereby agrees to:

  1. Extend, until December 31, 1999, the initial period of appointment of two senior officials of the Secretariat: Directors Mario Estrada Cuevas and Miguel Ceara Hatton, whose contracts expire in September and October 1999 respectively, and who hold two posts of Director, in accordance with the staff structure submitted as Annex II of Agreement No. 2/95 of the Ministerial Council.

  2. Instruct the Secretary General to extend the contracts of Directors Mario Estrada Cuevas and Miguel Ceara Hatton in accordance with paragraph 1 of this Agreement.
